Missions

Missions are structured to address chronic under-performance or failure of social systems. There is no shortage of work to be done here, and every body has skin in the game.

A mission statement is one of the primary outputs of a ReCON* engagement. Mission scopes can be narrow and tightly defined, such as Rep26, or broad and challenging to put boundaries around, such as Immisimimlation.

Many mission statements can be replicated, localized, and undertaken independently. For example, Rep26 is designed to engage local, state and federal representatives, potentially with a separate mission for the engagement of each representative to help them transform from win/lose to win/win thinking and strategy.

The ReCON* framework for mission development embodies the notion that all missions are interconnected and interdependent, reflecting that we ourselves are interconnected and interdependent.

ReCON* is also suitable for solo work:

  • private relationships can benefit from the rigor of a ReCON* mission approach

  • fluency with the full Academy curriculum significantly increases ones ability to separate the wheat from the chaff when reading and analyzing another’s content (news, commentary, social media posts, etc.); Academy members can follow the Captain’s Log, in which ChatDDU highlights and analyzes the work of other authors in terms of their contribution to win/win thinking.
