ReCON*

ReCON* is the Academy’s method for translating intqoin theory into practice. We strive to “gamify” in two ways:

  1. In doing the actual work: defining the mission and goals, establishing rules for fair play, setting up a board (an example of which is the Concourse “meta-board”), etc.; this level of gamification is of secondary importance

  2. In hosting the work: securing the space and time for people to gather, ensuring they feel welcome regardless of their relationship to the subject matter; this level of gamification is of fundamental importance - the “fabric” of successful ReCON* missions is less so the structure in level (1) gamification but rather the building of relationships and trust within which the ReCON* work is done, based on the primacy of “we are in this together.”

ReCON* work includes the use of the intqoin model to idealize the system(s) of interest, select Workbench models, methods and tools to characterize and troubleshoot system shortcomings from a stakeholder perspective, and develop “dot on the horizon” based missions that transform those systems from win/lose to win/win.

ReCON* involves the emotional work of “letting go” of existing win/lose (read: “unfair”) systems in favor of more intelligently designed win/win (read: “fair”) systems. ReCON* actively seeks system inconsistencies, which at the individual level means experiencing emotional triggers rooted in inconsistent beliefs.

A safe space is a forgiving space. Everyone is allowed to be triggered. Academy members will be equipped to put new neurolingual code in place to catch those triggers, reallocate the flow of emotions, and accept that dissipation of “surplus” emotion is part of the personal cost of rescuing our social well-being.
